Without Further Ado...

{ LolaMae Creations } is *officially* open for business! Wahoo! I am so very excited that after months of creating, brainstorming, work, and preparation, my little shop is finally open! For the opening, I’ve included mostly cosmetic pouches in various sizes and styles and a few different wristlet/clutch options, as well as a few other goodies. But check back as I’m still working to create some festive items just in time for the Holiday Season!
Even though LMC is just a baby, I am extremely proud of myself for seeing this through and finally seeing my goal come to fruition. Of course, I have tons of work ahead of me but this first step feels pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!

Weekend Awesomeness

Monday, again, really?! I feel as though it was just Monday…funny how quickly those bad boys come back around isn’t it? Well, at least I had myself an extremely pleasant weekend…just what the doctor ordered!
Since my Manly Man was out playing hide and seek in the woods (aka: celebrating opening day of Deer Hunting Season), I had a solo day on Saturday. My day started off ah-mazingly with a wonderful yoga session. Since my 9 to 5’er job requires that I work every other Saturday morning, it had been quite some time since I had enjoyed some good ole Saturday a.m. yoga. And furthermore, since I had just experienced one heck of an icky work week, it was exactly what I needed to feel relaxed and rejuvenated!
                                                M.M. out in the elements doing what he does best.
After yoga, my Mom and I got some bonding time in at brunch and then headed over to the nearest craft store for some much-needed new fabric purchases! (New designs are swirling through my head as we speak!) After shopping, I headed to the studio to get some sewing time in. I then headed over to my parents’ house to watch the Nebraska football game with the fam. It was a great game and we won, woo hoo! And added bonus: my Dad and brother had to work during the day while the game was actually being played so they DVR’d the game and it only took a little over an hour to watch…no commercials and no sideline mumbo jumbo, gotta love it. I have to admit, when I’m not tailgating at the game, I sure do miss the excitement of downtown Lincoln on game day but you can’t really beat the feeling of being warm and cozy on the couch, drink in hand.
                                                                        GO BIG RED!!!
The rest of my Saturday was spent relaxing at home with M.M. when he finally returned from hunting. We then proceeded to have an extremely leisurely Sunday morning with bagels and yummy lattes. And because any sort of productiveness is frowned upon in our household on a Sunday morning, we decided to take a short 3-hour nap. Pure awesomeness. Since I felt a wee bit guilty about my excessive nap-taking, I decided to get down to business in the studio, doing some more sewing and caught up on some laundry and such.
All-in-all, it was a wonderful, relaxing weekend!! How did you spend your weekend?
P.S. I’m hitting the home-stretch of getting everything ready to roll out for the Grand Opening of my shop, { LolaMae Creations }. Check back tomorrow for more info on the LMC Grand Opening sale! Have a great night everyone!

Setting up Shop!

I am SO excited to announce that my shop will officially be up and a’runnin’ on November 15th! That’s next  Tuesday. As in 7 days, if you count today. Which I am. Because I have oh-so-much work to do! Eek! Ever since I discovered Etsy a few months back, I’ve become completely inspired and my mindset about handmade products has done a 180. There are so many awesome and awe-inspiring products out there. So many talented people! I am so excited to join the marketplace of Etsy while trying my hand at selling my pretty products and to chronicle my adventures along the way.
So far this week, I’ve been pretty stressed about all the preparation that it takes to set up an Etsy shop properly. I’ve been designing, cutting, setting up Twitter and Facebook accounts, ordering Etsy banners, shipping supplies, and business cards, not to mention sewing up a storm in my little ‘studio’. Manly Man has been extremely supportive of my endeavor but Miss Lola is not so understanding. She would much rather play than watch me sew for hours on end!  Poor Lola Mae.

I will leave you all with a sneak peak of a few of my creations. Check back for more details soon!! {Hopefully by that time, I haven’t disappeared into a mountain of scrap fabric and thread!}

Happy Hump day everyone!

Nice to meet you!

Hey! I’m Jen.  I’m God loving, dino-obsessed girl who is head-over-heals in love with my fiancĂ© and my fur baby French Pug. I think it’s perfectly acceptable to bust out a British accent in any and all situations and would probably bust out an Australian one if I could manage to make it not sound part Southern, part gibberish. I usually leave the cooking to my main squeeze, as I lack the patience for such things but I absolutely love to use my noggin to create beautiful things, many of which you will be seeing in the near future!
I’m trying to better myself each and every day and hope that this blog helps me to do so, while allowing me to connect with other ladies out there who might be able to relate.  I’m a work in progress {much like this bloggy blog} so feel free to come on back and see where this bad boy leads.
